My Take

Deryck Whibley is the constant in a band that has shifted around him for decades. As the only original member left in Sum 41, he has worn every hat that matters, vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist, songwriter and producer, refusing to let go of the wheel. I admire that stubborn devotion more than any trophy. Plenty of pop-punk bands burned bright and vanished, but Whibley kept the engine running through lineup changes and personal hardship. To me, his real achievement is endurance, the unglamorous art of showing up and protecting a sound he clearly still loves making.
