My Take
Dieter Bohlen is, to me, a fascinating study in longevity. Most people know him for Modern Talking and the irresistible 1980s hit "You're My Heart, You're My Soul," but the real story is what came after. He became a prolific producer shaping countless German and international acts, then a famously sharp-tongued judge on Deutschland sucht den Superstar. Goldene Stimmgabel, Bambi and Echo awards line his shelf, yet his greatest skill may be commercial instinct. Where many pop stars flame out, Bohlen turned himself into an institution of the German music industry, and I find that business acumen genuinely impressive.
