My Take

Djamel Bakar's story tugs at me more than his stats might suggest. Born and raised in Marseille, he chose to represent Comoros, a tiny Indian Ocean nation, and there is real heart in carrying that flag onto the pitch. At 171 cm he was never a towering striker, which tells me he made his living on speed and movement rather than size. I picture an Aries forward all forward momentum and scrappy hunger in front of goal.
