My Take

I used to dismiss darts as pub entertainment until players like James Wade made me reconsider. The Aldershot-born PDC professional climbed to world number two back in 2010, and the sheer nerve required to hit millimetre-precise targets under tournament pressure rivals any sport I can think of. What impresses me most is durability: staying near the top of a quiet, under-televised discipline for years is an unglamorous kind of greatness.
