Don Toliver

Don Toliver carries a distinctly nocturnal sound, and I'm here for it. The Houston native broke through on Travis Scott's Astroworld and signed to Cactus Jack the very next week, a near-fairytale leap. What sets him apart is how he blurs the line between rapping and singing, that mellow, floating voice melting hip-hop and R&B into something hazy and new. I respect that he turned a guest verse into a full artistic identity rather than coasting on the cosign. Born in 1994, he still feels like an artist mid-ascent, and I'd bet his best work is yet to come.
