My Take

Goalkeepers fascinate me because the job is mostly invisible until the one moment it is not, and a left-footed keeper like Dong Chunyu is rarer still. Holding down the net for Zhejiang in the Chinese Super League means absorbing pressure that strikers never feel. What interests me is the temperament that role demands: composure, short memory, and the willingness to be blamed for things outside your control. I have a soft spot for players who choose the loneliest position on the pitch and stay there for years. From Shenyang to top-flight football is no small road, and I would happily watch him work a busy afternoon.
