Dustin Nguyen

Dustin Nguyen earns my respect as a genuine trailblazer for Asian actors in American media. Born in Ho Chi Minh City and raised in California, he broke through as Harry Aioki on 21 Jump Street long before Hollywood made room for faces like his, and later brought real menace as Zing in Warrior. A martial artist who grew into a filmmaker, he keeps returning to stories rooted in his native Vietnam, from The Rebel to Saigon Eclipse. I'm drawn to artists who never forget where they came from, and Nguyen wears that heritage proudly.
