Ella Henderson

Ella Henderson is the sort of artist whose setbacks make her story far more compelling. Finishing sixth on The X Factor could have ended things, yet she turned that disappointment into fuel and pushed her debut album to number one in the UK. I have a real soft spot for performers who answer rejection with results. Pair that resilience with a genuinely expressive voice and the craft of writing her own material, and you have someone built to last. The arc from boarding-school stages at Tring Park to the top of the charts gives her music a grounded, earned quality I find easy to root for.
