Emily Eavis

Emily Eavis fascinates me because she works in the hardest role in music: the one nobody sees. Running Glastonbury, arguably the world's most iconic festival, means turning a muddy English field into a coherent dream for hundreds of thousands of people every year. Inheriting it from her father Michael could have been a comfortable handover, but instead she modernised it and kept it culturally relevant. That blend of stewardship and reinvention is rare. I have a lot of respect for organisers who shoulder enormous logistical and emotional weight so artists can shine. Eavis is, to me, a genuine architect of shared memory.
