My Take
Eric Balfour is the sort of actor I instinctively root for: a Los Angeles native who built a steady, versatile career without ever needing top billing. From horror like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to lighter fare such as What Women Want, he slots into a project and quietly makes it better. The fact that he also sings and directs tells me he simply loves creating, full stop. I value these durable, dependable performers who keep the machinery of film and television running. Balfour may not headline awards conversations, but he's exactly the kind of craftsman a good production leans on.
