Eric Christian Olsen

I'll be honest — when I first heard "Eric Christian Olsen," I thought he was some daytime soap guy nobody remembers, but then I realized he's been Marty Deeks on NCIS: Los Angeles for over a decade and suddenly everything clicked. He carved out this genuinely likable niche as the scrappy, wisecracking undercover LAPD detective, and what makes it work is that he actually commits to the charm rather than coasting on it. Coming out of Eugene, Oregon and Pepperdine University, he didn't take the obvious path — he did goofy comedies like Dumb and Dumberer and Not Another Teen Movie before settling into the procedural grind, which tells you he's comfortable being underestimated. The fact that he pivoted into producing, including the 2024 Matlock reboot, shows there's more going on behind the scenes than just a pretty face in a detective's jacket.
