Éric Ciotti

Whatever one makes of his politics, Éric Ciotti strikes me as a genuinely persistent operator. Rooted in Nice since birth, he has held his Alpes-Maritimes seat since 2007, led The Republicans, and reached the mayoralty by 2026, a long arc that signals real local entrenchment rather than fleeting ambition. I am most interested in his refusal to soften convictions that have proven controversial; love it or hate it, that consistency is rarer than it sounds in modern politics. To me he reads less as an ideologue of the moment and more as a stubborn, locally grounded survivor of the long game.
