Eva Carneiro

Eva Carneiro earns my genuine admiration. As the first-team doctor for Chelsea, she occupied a position of enormous responsibility in a famously male-dominated sport, and she did it with evident competence and composure. Trained at Nottingham and beyond, she brought serious clinical rigor to the touchline, where the stakes are nothing less than players' health. It is easy to celebrate the stars who score the goals, but I think the professionals who safeguard those athletes deserve far more recognition than they get. Her career stands as a quiet, principled reminder of what real expertise under pressure looks like.
