My Take

Felipe Gutiérrez is the sort of midfielder I have a soft spot for. At 170 cm he was never going to overpower anyone, so he had to win with intelligence and clean technique, the hallmark of the smaller playmaker. Coming from Quintero on Chile's windswept Valparaíso coast, I imagine a certain quiet toughness baked into him.
