Fortune Feimster

Fortune Feimster is the kind of comedian I find easy to root for. From Charlotte, North Carolina, she broke through on Last Comic Standing in 2010 and proved her range as Colette on The Mindy Project. What draws me to her is the warmth in her comedy; there's no meanness in it, just a generous, self-revealing honesty rooted in her Southern upbringing. As a writer as well as a performer, she shapes her own voice rather than borrowing one. Comedians like her quietly make the whole landscape more humane and a lot more likable.
