My Take

Gauahar Khan strikes me as a competitor first and a performer second, and I mean that as praise. Pageants, modeling, a film debut with a major studio, and then winning Bigg Boss season 7 — a format that rewards authenticity under constant surveillance — shows she can read a room better than most trained actors. Indian entertainment is brutally crowded, yet she keeps finding new arenas and walking out with results. Gauahar Zafar Khan (born 23 August 1983) is an Indian actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder. She started her career as a model and participated in the Femina Miss India contest in 2002. She was the winner of Bigg Boss season 7 in 2013. Gauhar also appeared in Hindi films and television. After appearing in dance songs, Khan made her acting debut with Yash Raj Films's Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year (2009).
