Geordie Greep

Geordie Greep interests me as a genuine oddball in a scene full of them. Fronting Black Midi from the Windmill milieu, he made music too restless and theatrical to slot anywhere comfortably, and that refusal to be tidy is exactly what I value. Forming the band with friends he met at the BRIT School gives the story a charming origin, but his real signature is the lurching, maximalist showmanship. With Black Midi behind him, I suspect his most idiosyncratic work is still ahead. Unconventional talents take time to ripen, and I am quietly watching where this restless young Englishman goes next.
