My Take

Greg Wise will always be Willoughby to me, that charming heartbreaker in Sense and Sensibility, and there's something irresistibly novelistic about the fact that he later married his co-star Emma Thompson. A Newcastle man educated in Edinburgh, he has worked across film, stage, television and production with a craftsman's quiet versatility rather than star-chasing flash. I respect actors who build both a steady working life and a steady home life, and the calm assurance he carries reads as hard-earned.
