H.P. Baxxter

H.P. Baxxter fascinates me because he committed completely to a single, unapologetic idea. As the voice of Scooter, he built a sound that critics love to mock and crowds refuse to stop dancing to. I find it telling that a man who briefly studied law in Hanover chose maximalist party techno and then defended it for three decades without irony. That kind of conviction is rare. Whether you call it brilliant or absurd, his shouted hooks are instantly recognizable, and the stamina to front a band that long deserves real respect. I genuinely enjoy how he made shamelessness into an art form.
