Hideki Takahashi

I have such a soft spot for Hideki Takahashi. Picture it: a kid from Kisarazu in Chiba who grows into this towering, 180cm presence with a voice that booms and a grin so wide and hearty it fills the whole frame. Put him in a samurai role and he just belongs dead center, sword in hand, total old-school leading-man swagger. But here's the twist that gets me. The same guy who played such a stern, handsome tough in his youth turns into this warm, goofy, totally approachable presence on variety TV later in life, and you can't help thinking, wait, this teddy bear was the intimidating one? Watching him crack jokes, often alongside his daughter, you feel the genuine affection radiating off him. Decades on the front lines and he's still grinning. Real respect for a craftsman like that.
