Hiroyuki Nishimura

Okay, Hiroyuki is one of those people I can't quite file away neatly, and that's exactly why I find him fascinating. This is a guy who, while still a college kid at Chuo University, basically built 2channel and accidentally became the architect of Japan's entire anonymous internet culture, then later ended up steering 4chan too, which is a wild sentence to type out loud. What gets me is the temperature he runs at: total room-temperature calm. Everyone around him is shouting, and he just leans back with that "well, that's just your opinion, right?" energy and keeps poking holes in your logic. It should be infuriating, and honestly sometimes it is, but I always end up listening anyway. A normal Kanagawa kid with a brain wired at a weird, contrarian angle. That slipperiness is the whole charm.
