Okay, picture an eleven-year-old kid stepping up to a microphone and flat-out commanding a room full of grown adults, and you start to get why people still talk about Hibari Misora like she's a force of nature. To me she isn't really a singer you compare to others, she's basically her own genre, that voice doing things with phrasing and emotion that nobody taught her and nobody's quite replicated since. Songs like Ringo Oiwake or Kanashii Sake will sneak up and wreck you even when you've got zero reason to feel sad, which is honestly a little unfair.
