My Take

Sancho's decision at seventeen to leave Manchester City's academy for Borussia Dortmund remains, to me, one of the most consequential choices a young English player ever made — it cracked open the door for a generation to seek minutes abroad rather than wait on Premier League benches. At his best he is pure joy to watch: low center of gravity, mischievous touches, a winger who plays like the game is still a street kickabout in Camberwell. His career has wobbled since, and free agency at this age is sobering, but I refuse to write him off. Talent like his usually finds its stage again.
