Peter Wright

Peter Wright single-handedly changed how I think about darts. The Snakebite persona, the wild hair, the carnival costumes, turn what could be a sleepy pub game into genuine theatre, and I respect a performer who commits that hard to the show. But the part that really lands for me is the timing: years of near-misses on the biggest stage before finally taking the 2020 and 2022 world titles and reaching world number one. Late-blooming success is my favourite kind of story. He is living proof that the peak can arrive long after everyone assumed your window had closed.
