Janina Gavankar

Janina Gavankar is the sort of polymath I can't help rooting for. A theatre major out of the University of Illinois Chicago, she moves between film, television and voice work while also being a trained pianist, vocalist and orchestral percussionist. That breadth could easily scatter a career, yet she seems to commit fully to each discipline rather than dabbling. I find that combination of range and seriousness genuinely rare. There is a curiosity to her path that resists easy categorization, and I respect performers who keep stretching themselves instead of settling into a comfortable lane. She feels like an artist still actively expanding.
