Jasleen Royal

What draws me to Jasleen Royal is her quiet, craft-first approach in an industry that often rewards noise. Singing in Punjabi, Hindi, Bengali and Gujarati is no small feat, and winning the Filmfare Best Music Director award for Shershaah proves she is not just a vocalist but a genuine architect of sound. I find her indie roots especially compelling; she built credibility through the songs themselves rather than spectacle. In my view, that kind of multilingual, composer-driven artistry tends to age well, and I suspect her influence on a younger generation of Indian songwriters is only beginning to take shape.
