Jeri Ryan

For me Jeri Ryan will always be Seven of Nine, but I find the way she played the part more interesting than the role's iconic look. Born in Munich into a military family and trained at Northwestern, she brought real craft to what could have been a one-note ex-Borg, charting a character slowly relearning her humanity. What earns my respect is the return: coming back to the same role two decades later in Picard and winning a Saturn Award shows a rare loyalty to and understanding of a character. That kind of long arc, played with restraint, is something I genuinely admire.
