Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is one of those strikers who made defenders genuinely nervous — a Surinamese-born, Netherlands-raised forward who became one of the most feared goalscorers in European football during the late 1990s and 2000s. His time at Leeds, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea was something else: that thunderous left foot, the way he'd strike from distance without hesitation, it was pure conviction. He won the Premier League Golden Boot twice, with Leeds and then Chelsea, which tells you everything about his level. What I appreciate is that he didn't coast on his playing reputation — he moved into coaching and actually worked his way through lower-league management in England, earning his stripes the hard way. Not every ex-star does that.
