Joe Dempsie

Joe Dempsie is the kind of actor I quietly admire more than the flashy leads. He broke through as Chris in Skins, then made Gendry one of Game of Thrones' most grounded figures, a forge-hardened commoner with royal blood and zero pretension. What I value is his durability: a child actor in medical dramas who built a real craft brick by brick rather than chasing instant fame. There is a working-class solidity to his presence, fitting for a Liverpool upbringing, that makes any scene feel weightier. I suspect his best, most lived-in roles are still ahead of him.
