Johannes Thiemann is the kind of athlete I appreciate for steady professionalism over flash. A German big man at 205 cm, he's spent his career in the German league and, interestingly to me, also played in Japan for the Gunma Crane Thunders before competing at the top level for Bayern Munich. That Japan stint stands out, because not many European players take that route, and I respect the willingness to play abroad.
