Josephine Langford

Langford intrigues me precisely because she took on the hardest job in romance cinema. Carrying the After series as Tessa Young means shouldering the audience's entire emotional investment, and doing that as a young actress from suburban Perth is no small feat. With an older sister who is also an actress, she clearly grew up around the craft, but the leap from Western Australia to a global franchise still takes nerve. Born in 1997, she is early enough in her arc that the interesting chapters are likely ahead. I am curious to see which adult, less commercial roles she chooses, because that is where I think her real range will surface.
