Julia Montgomery

Julia Montgomery carries the unmistakable scent of a particular era for me. From Kansas City, Missouri, she earned early attention as Samantha Vernon on the soap One Life to Live, then crossed into the slasher Girls Nite Out and the beloved comedy Revenge of the Nerds as Betty Childs. Moving fluidly between daytime drama, horror, and teen comedy marks her as a working actress who powered the screens of the 1980s. She may not be a household megastar, but I have real warmth for performers who reliably anchor the projects around them. Those are the players who make an era feel alive.
