My Take

Kadeem Hardison carries a particular nostalgia for me. A Brooklyn kid from Talent Unlimited High School, son of trailblazing model Bethann Hardison, he defined an era as Dwayne Wayne on A Different World and then reinvented himself decades later as a sitcom dad on K.C. Undercover. That longevity is what I admire, the ability to stay relevant without chasing trends, and to slip naturally between live action and voice work. I have always preferred performers who simply keep showing up, year after year, and Hardison's easy, unforced staying power is exactly the kind of career that earns my applause.

The son of fashion model Bethann Hardison, he rose to prominence after landing the role of Dwayne Wayne on the television series A Different World, a spin-off of the NBC sitcom The Cosby Show.
