Kasey Chambers

What I admire most about Kasey Chambers is the rootedness. Born in Mount Gambier to a family of musicians and performing from childhood with the Dead Ringer Band, she earned her artistry the hard way rather than being manufactured. Five of her twelve studio albums hitting number one tells me she has staying power, not a one-off moment. I am drawn to artists who sing in their own unmistakable voice instead of chasing trends, and Chambers is exactly that. To me she reads as a genuine storyteller worthy of lasting respect.
