My Take

What I appreciate about Kelly Rowan is how deliberately she built her craft before chasing the camera. An Ottawa kid who went off to study acting in London and New York, then modeled, then landed The Gate in 1987 before her Gemini-winning turn in Adrift. That's a foundation-first path I respect. To me she's a textbook example of the Canadian performer who quietly racks up serious credits without the noise, and that Gemini for Best Actress tells me the work spoke louder than any publicity push ever could. A steady, earned career.
