Kenta Aoshima

What gets me about Kenta Aoshima is the sheer reinvention of it all. The guy starts out on the diamond as a pro ballplayer, then somehow turns that into a second life as a commentator who could talk baseball until the cows come home, and then, plot twist, he walks straight into politics. That's a wild range for one career, and I respect it. There's this composed, slightly bookish vibe to him that makes sense once you hear he's a Keio law grad, so even when he's geeking out over a game he's got this cool, bird's-eye way of breaking it down rather than just shouting. At 182cm and Niigata-raised, he carries himself like a steady old hand. I quietly admire anyone who keeps changing the stage and still finds a way to deliver.
