Ketan Mehta

Ketan Mehta is the kind of filmmaker I gravitate toward: a tireless craftsman who has worked steadily since 1975 across cinema, documentary, and television. Writing, directing, and producing means he shapes a story from spine to surface, and Indian cinema is richer for directors who probe history and society rather than chase only spectacle. Nearly half a century of staying in the chair is its own quiet achievement. I respect makers who outlast trends through sheer persistence, and Mehta reads to me as one of those durable, substance-first voices worth seeking out.
