Khem Birch

Khem Birch fascinates me as a journeyman of real grit. A 206-cm big man from Montreal, he sharpened his game at Pittsburgh and UNLV before carving out a career that stretches from the NBA to EuroLeague basketball with Fenerbahce and now Aris Thessaloniki in Greece. That willingness to cross continents to find his place tells me a lot about his resolve. I am less interested in players who ride a smooth path to stardom than in those who earn their footing the hard way. As a defensive-minded interior presence, Birch reflects exactly the kind of persistence and adaptability I genuinely respect.
