My Take

Kim Joon, born Kim Hyung-joon, is forever tied for me to Boys Over Flowers, where his role as one of the F4 in that 2009 drama made him a regional star almost overnight. I find his case a good lens on how a single mega-hit Korean drama can define a career, for better and worse. He is a South Korean rapper and actor, and I think the rapper side gets overlooked because the F4 image was so powerful. The label here calls him American, but he is from Gwacheon in Gyeonggi Province. I am always curious how performers from that era keep reinventing themselves.
