Lara Fabian

Lara Fabian's voice has given me chills more times than I can count. Born in Brussels to a Belgian father and an Italian mother, she channels that mixed heritage into a singing style that is unapologetically dramatic and emotionally maximalist. Selling over twelve million records makes her one of Belgium's greatest exports, yet what stays with me is not the numbers but the sheer commitment in albums like Pure and Nue. It amazes me that such a towering sound comes from a 163 cm frame. She sings with her soul rather than mere technique, and she remains an artist I would dearly love to experience live.
