Larry R. Williams

Larry Williams fascinates me as one of trading's true characters. Born in 1942 and a University of Oregon man, he became a legendary commodity trader and prolific author, and is also father to actress Michelle Williams. What I admire is not just that he won in the markets, but that he kept teaching, publishing his methods rather than hoarding them. Plenty of traders strike gold once; far fewer turn around and mentor the next generation. To me, his lasting value lies in that generosity, and in a stubborn willingness to keep reading both numbers and human psychology.
