Laura Michelle Kelly

What strikes me about Laura Michelle Kelly is her ability to originate roles rather than merely inherit them. Creating Mary Poppins in the West End and winning an Olivier Award for it is no small feat; that role demands voice, poise, and presence in equal measure. Carrying Finding Neverland on Broadway confirmed she belongs on both sides of the Atlantic. I see her less as a recording artist and more as a live performer whose real gift is moving an audience in the moment. She is, I think, the kind of talent you must witness in a theatre to truly appreciate.
