My Take
Laurence R. Harvey occupies a strange, fascinating niche, and I respect him for owning it completely. Built almost entirely around two notoriously extreme horror films, his reputation could have been a punchline; instead he turned grotesque material into something unforgettable. Taking roles most actors would flee requires real nerve and, I'd argue, a craftsman's discipline beneath the shock value. His Martin Lomax in The Human Centipede 2 is the role people remember, and that single performance still sharpens the impression he leaves. I tend to admire actors who commit fully to the uncomfortable, and Harvey strikes me as exactly that kind of fearless, deliberate presence.
