My Take
Derek de Lint, born in The Hague in 1950, is a reminder that some of the most quietly compelling screen presences come from outside the English-speaking world. Many viewers know him as Derek Rayne in Poltergeist: The Legacy, but I value the longer arc, a Dutch actor who crossed comfortably between European cinema and international television over decades. That kind of crossover demands range and a certain mystery, and de Lint carries both. Staying relevant on screen for half a century is its own rare form of mastery, and worth saluting.
