Lisa Evers

Lisa Evers has one of the most gloriously improbable résumés I have encountered. Chicago-born, she has been a journalist, radio host, professional wrestler, model and philanthropist, hosting a long-running show built around the young people of New York and serving as a high-ranking Guardian Angel. That last detail tells me she literally put her body on the line for community safety. I love the sheer nerve of someone who runs toward the story and the danger rather than away from it. People this fearless and this committed are rare.
