Luke Hemmings

What gets me about Luke Hemmings is the longevity. He co-founded 5 Seconds of Summer as a teenager and grew up in public as the band's frontman, which is a brutal way to learn your craft. The numbers behind that group are staggering to me, millions of albums and billions of streams, and yet he kept the same lineup and the same name for over a decade. As lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and a songwriter, he carries the melodic identity of the whole project. I respect artists who outlast the hype cycle that built them, and he clearly has.
