Ma'a Nonu

Ma'a Nonu is one of those players who defined an era of All Blacks rugby for me. A Wellington-born inside centre of Samoan heritage, he was a key man in both the 2011 and 2015 World Cup winning sides, joining the rare group of multiple-time champions. What I loved was the contrast in his game, a battering ram who could smash through the line one moment and slip a delicate, clever pass the next. That blend of raw power and genuine craft made him endlessly watchable, and it is why he remains, in my eyes, one of the great midfield runners of his generation.
