My Take

Malcolm-Jamal Warner's passing in 2025 hit harder than I expected. For my generation, Theo Huxtable was the kid we grew up alongside, and what impresses me is that Warner never let that early fame become a cage. He kept working as an actor, a musician who won a Grammy, and a poet, building a quietly substantial life when so many child stars simply vanish. There was an unshowy dignity to his career that I deeply respect. He came from Jersey City and carried a grounded warmth into everything he touched. I think he will be remembered less for one role and more for how gracefully he kept going.
