My Take

I have a soft spot for unflashy centre-backs, and Angeleri is exactly that breed. Born in La Plata, a 182 cm Argentine defender, he played the position that never makes the back page yet wins matches. Argentine football gets billed as fire and flair, but the men at the back have to supply the cold arithmetic underneath it.
