My Take
Marina Tsuda is one of those people who quietly carved out a genuinely interesting career path — Nara girl, Kwansei Gakuin University grad, then straight into the spotlight via Koi no Kara Sawagi and SDN48, the grown-up, college-age sister group to AKB48. SDN48 was always a weird and fascinating experiment in idol culture, and she fit that lane well — too smart and grounded for the standard idol conveyor belt. After the group disbanded in 2012 she pivoted hard into horse racing commentary and sports talent work, which honestly suits her brainy, self-possessed vibe way better than idol choreography ever did.
